For years I have been visiting these enchanting places (and if you follow me assiduously you should know that very well). Where do I take you today? We are on the Turracher Höhe plateau, nestled in the Nock Mountains, at 1,763 meters, overlooking a lake that is half located in Carinthia and half in Styria.
I was lucky enough to admire this landscape in every season; covered in ice in winter and used as a connection with a snowmobile that pulls skiers from one plant to another, with the sleds of the little ones or with skates and rowing boats in the summer. In my opinion!? With the cold or with the heat, this place is always, always wonderful.
The waters of this fantastic lake reflect the image of the mountains and the most fabulous of hotels, always a must stop - for myself! - for a hot chocolate in winter or an ice-cold Skiwasser in summer!
This time I wanted to deepen my knowledge by staying a a little bit longer than usual 'in this paradise 🙂
Let me start by immediately telling you that the Romantik Seehotel Jägerwirt is reported on the Romantik Hotels &Restaurants International guide. Yes, and it is not only suitable for romantic stays in pairs. It's fantastic even for a family holiday, children included.
The Jägerwirt is located very close to the lake, on the side of Styria ..and Carinthia is just a stone's throw away! Here the hospitality is truly exceptional, pampering at three hundred and sixty degrees, comfort of all kinds and a relaxing scent of wood everywhere. There are even suites overlooking the lake with a sauna in the room (love is in the air, please!).
Amongst the peace of the mountains, the relaxation of the greenery and the rhythm of the breeze in this place you can "undress yourself of stress" and regenerate completely. To help you out, there is a wellness area with turkish bath, whirlpool and much more.
Where did I stay? In a small corner of paradise with two antique wooden beds positioned in a Venetian red-walled alcove .. and a window overlooking the mountains! Here you can relax on a hot water mattresses and be pampered by relaxing background music. Relaxation, it is inevitable, comes immediately, even for me (that I can never stand still ... you must believe me).
As I was saying, there are three floors dedicated to wellness and divided between areas that are forbidden to children under 14 and offer massages, Bali SPA, indoor and outdoor pools and so on and so forth. Recharging the batteries will be easy!
But the particularity of this charming hotel, as I told you, is that here you can enjoy a relaxing holiday accompanied by your children; in fact, a gigantic games room on the top floor is dedicated to the little ones. Two hundred square meters with lots of climbing walls, games of all kinds and a rich entertainment program for children aged 2 to 9 years.
You understood very well. While you will be pampered they will have fun with the "Kitz Club" (from Sunday to Friday, from 10 to 20). And it's not over yet. With the Alm Butler VIP, the card issued by the hotel, you can go up for free with the 2,000-meter cable car and reach a three-hectare playground. THREE HECTARES!
Let me tell you a secret! Every time I come here I do the whole toboggan ride! It is a track-mounted and always active course, a wonderful experience for everyone, young and old ... last summer I even dragged MIA MAMMA (MY MOTHER) and she was enthusiastic about it. Like my son Giovanni, who always asks for a second ride.
And if you are as a foodie as I am, go out of the path looking for blueberries ... you will find many in season!

Good. Now we can talk about food. Great food! And the breakfasts, as often happens, are the best time of the day! Here you will find a buffet from sweet to savoury (the crêpes cooked at the moment with the ingredients of your choice are incredible). There is also fresh fruit, cheeses, salami and that delicious honey that I often encounter in my Austrian trips, offered directly on the honeycomb: A BOMB!
I can only recommend a trip to these mountains. You will not regret it!
Ah, I almost forgot. Pets here are welcome and will be fine. I can assure you that the dogs encountered in the corridors of the structure had ALL the straight tail that swung from right to left with great enthusiasm.
And yes, before you ask me, I'll tell you. I bought the magnificent Dirndl I am wearing, to give me an Austrian tone, naughty me!!. For the lovers of this style, I recommend a short trip "Atrio" (shopping center) where you can find all sort them in all al versions from traditional to the shortest and most modern. And the prices are accessible!
A hug and good Austria to all 🙂
